The build on this bungalow conversion on Four Oaks Estate is approaching completion. We have added another level to the bungalow in order to create a full two storey home with additional bedrooms with feature stairs and atrium.
We have used composite cladding and slate building stone along with feature rendered glazed gables which retain the ethos of the original bungalow but at the same time have created a bold and modern statement building.
Existing foundations were checked at the outset and deemed to be adequate for the addition level so the new work, whilst creating a large extension, was relatively straight forward with new cavity walls built up off the existing and a series of pre-manufactured trusses craned in to form the new roof. This minimised the build time and whilst the existing roof was removed a covered scaffold was erected over the top to stop any water coming in and preserve the existing ground floor areas including ceilings which are all untouched.
