Restoration and remodelling of an early 17th century coaching house in Warwick with adjacent barn conversion, both for resale by private developer.
Careful preservation of the existing internal and external fabric resulted in much of the character of the existing buildings being uncovered and restored. New structural and internal work was carried out using traditional historic techniques and key features exposed. Contemporary finishing with understated kitchens and bathrooms were introduced and tailored to the client’s budget.
Site notes
The original timber frame was carefully surveyed and excessively degraded members identified and replaced with new oak so the intervention was not disguised. Original sash windows that were deemed irreparable were replaced with bespoke traditional replacements, assembled by a specialist joiner.
