We have secured planning approval for this new dwelling on a coastal site in Abersoch, situated within the Llŷn Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Llŷn and Enlli Landscape of Outstanding Historic Interest. This exciting project replaces a dilapidated bungalow with a modern home that sits harmoniously within its breathtaking surroundings.

Carefully designed to complement the natural landscape, the new home appears to float above the cliff edge, creating a striking yet sensitive presence. From the roadside, the property appears a modest single-storey structure, minimising its visual impact, while stepping down into a double-height space to adapt to the site’s dramatic level changes.

The design maximises stunning coastal views while respecting its protected environment, delivering a sustainable contemporary addition to this remarkable location.

A detached holiday property located on the Llyn Peninsula in North Wales which benefits from an elevated position and views over Abersoch, Snowdonia and Cardigan Bay.

This 1970s dormer bungalow is to be completely renovated and will incorporate a number of low-energy design features including an air-source heat pump. The house will be highly insulated and fitted out in a contemporary style. Floor to ceiling glazing will take advantage of the views over the bay and of the mature garden surrounding the property.

The house has a split-level living arrangement – this style will be retained and echoed in the new master suite which features an additional split-level seating area overlooking the garden at the front. A new garage with a large gabled window overlooking the sea will house a gym and bathroom, accessed via a separate stairs.

Planning permission was granted in 2019 and work is underway.
